Eveleth Youth in Action put on a coin drive in the elementary school last month. Grades K-4 raised a total of $1,500 for the Quad City food shelf. The food shelf gets $7 worth of food for every $1 donated, meaning they got $10,500 worth of food! Eveleth High school did a food drive this fall, then found that raising money would be much more effective in helping the community. The elementary had a blast competing in “Coin Wars” with the 4th graders raising the most money! Great job, Eveleth!!! 👏

What is YIA?

Youth in Action (or YIA) is a St. Louis County program that promotes leadership by getting students involved in school and community projects that make a positive impact.

Youth in Action opportunities are available on the Iron Range for students in grades 7-12 and in the Duluth area schools for students in grades 9-12. It is free to join and everybody is welcome!

Our MISSION is to maintain and support youth development and community programs and projects. We work to promote public service values to better engage young adults with their communities. Our goal is to bring positive change to St. Louis County through partnerships with students, schools, community organizations and businesses and our in-school advisors.
